The booking process was so simple, Paola took us in the day before, and gave us so many tips. It was so wonderful to hear their story and the stories of the region. One of the very few things I had to experience on my trip to Italy was a cooking class. My daughter and I didn’t have a specific place but wanted it to be personal and very special since my several generations of grandmothers were born here. We booked the day before on our journey through Tuscany. Our conversation on the phone with Mario was so helpful in choosing our menu to cook and detailed directions to their place. Paola and Mario are very genuine, special people. Our class took place in their beautiful 18th century home and the minute we walked in, we were friends! They are a special team, working together, taking pictures, offering wine and water and assisting you as you cook. The food was amazing and simple. We laughed and cooked like we had known them forever! I feel like Paola could be my sister and I wish I lived next door to her! Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time learning from her and her husband, Mario. They are very responsive in their communication and provided good directions of how to find their home. (Mario even came outside to greet us in the nearby parking lot) We selected our menu in advance and used ingredients from their garden, including their own olive oil! After we prepared our meal, we dined on their back patio. Our whole group was able to participate in every step of the preparation - it was incredibly hands-on. Mario also took photos for us throughout the experience, allowing us to really focus and be present in the class. While on holiday with my family in Florence, we decided to do the cooking class with Paola! Her husband, Mario, was kind enough to pick us up from the city and bring us to their lovely home in Chianti. Paola and Mario were so kind and welcoming and made us immediately feel at home 😊 We were able to pick an appetizer, two pastas and a dessert to make, which all turned out absolutely amazing! Paola was an amazing chef and an even better teacher! She explained the ingredients of each dish and the process of cooking/creating the meal very well. We can’t wait to get home and try to recreate this delicious meal!
